After many years of international concert activity, including solo performances with the Trio VEIN, and collaborations with illustrious jazz musicians such as Dave Liebman, Ron Carter, Greg Osby, and Andy Sheppard, Michael Arbenz presents his new trio, which, together with bassist Wolfgang Zwiauer and drummer Clemens Kuratle, presents his music in a completely new light!
The trio combines a wide variety of jazz-related influences, creating a sound characterized by Michael Arbenz’s compositions, featuring multi-layered grooves and colorful harmonies. A central element of the band is the flexibility, unpredictability, and interaction of the trio, which has been described as the smallest possible orchestra, enriching and contrasting the soundscape of the compositions.
The music of the “Michael Arbenz Trio” thus oscillates between groove-driven, lyrical, complex, and open passages, in which the personal freedom of the three musicians always remains at the center.
